Panoromic view from Daman- e -Koh, Islamabad


Daman e Koh is one of the most viewing point in Islamabad. Daman e Koh is the combination of two urdu words thats is: Daman, (which mean center or lap) and Koh which mean (hill). So Daman e Koh means center or the lap of a hill.

The viewpoint is located north of Islamabad in the middle of the Margala Hills. It has two picnic spots, known as the "north" and "south" viewpoints, with parking available at both spots. Electric powered cars inside the area is used to transport tourist and kidz from one point to another. U may found there Peacok, goose and also monkeys in the park area of daman e koh .

On the north side, there is a small cafe for tea, drinks and snacks. On the south side, there is a restaurant located for lunch and dinner.


The south side is a sight seeing spot from where panoramic views of Islamabad are available during the day and night. One can almost whole Islamabad from this spot, from Faisal mosque to Rawal Lake.The seventh Avenue is also clear from this spot. An informational board, providing basic information about Islamabad, is available.

Two tracks are made to have a view of Faisal Mosque from two sides. One is about 200 foot step and another is about 120 foot steps.




















We can also have a nice scene of Rawal Lake in the South. A clear view of whole Islamabad city have an attraction for the tourist of the Daman-e-Koh.A hiking path connects the zoo park located at the base of the Margalla Hills to Daman-e-Koh, a few min drive by road and also by foot.












Marghazar Zoo is built at the foothills of lush green Margalla mountains in Islamabad a few foot distance from the Daman e koh.It is a tremendous source of attraction for visitors from across the country due to its fascinating location, fresh environment, and above, unique wildlife species.



































Different age groups and walks of life including students, children, women, families and senior citizens daily comes to this fabulous destination, which is open to all from dawn to dusk.




















It a great place for those who wanted to exploring wild life.And a place for leisure for those who need to go on walking tracks or have a cup of tea at multiple tiny huts built around the zoo at scattered places.















Sanctary for birds

The population of the country is more than 15 million but there are only five zoos throughout the country which include Karachi, Hyderabad, Lahore, Bahawalpur and Islamabad.It is very discouraging that there is no zoo in Quetta and Peshawar and rest of the cities and majority of the people, particularly students of these areas prefer to visit
