Confluence of River Indus and River Kabul:

The place where river Indus and river Kabul mingle together to give a beautiful view, is situated on the border of Punjab and NWFP renaming Khyber Pukhtunkwa. This is the spot, where Attock (Punjab) ends and Khair abad Kund (NWFP renaming Khyber Pukhtunkwa) begins. Khair abad Kund is a small town, where the Peshawar Development Authority has established a beautiful park.  Attock fort can be seen from the bridge over the Kabul and Indus rivers. River Kabul and river Indus have two distinct colors of water. Water of river Kabul is muddy while river Indus looks very clear and serene.  One can get a beautiful view of the meeting place, where both the rivers are united together to become mainstream, from the khair Abad Bridge which is usually called Attock Bridge too. .  One can get a view of the grand Attock fort situated near the Attock Khairabad Bridge. Kund Wild Life Park:

Khairabad kund is a small town, located on the border of Punjab and NWFP. It is the location, where two rivers join together. one is River Indus and other is River Kabul. Peshawar Development Authority has developed a Wild Life Park, which is situated inside the Kund Park. This is a very good step towards the preservation of wild species in northwest. It gives recreation to the visitors. There is a small zoo inside the park,which is of great interest for kids, youngsters and elders. Several species of wild life are on the display. NWFP Wild Life Department has provided the facilities and support to this zoo. This zoo has Leopards, spotted deer’s, different kind and species of birds, blue peacocks, white peacocks, cranes, partridges and a black bears. Spotted deer has white spots on its body. A brief history of Shahbaz Gari: Shahbaz gari is a beautiful place, which is situated between Mardan and Swabi. This place was supposed to be an important meeting place for almost all types of travelers to stay around into serenity and to enjoy the beauty of Shahbaz gari. It is situated near River Indus. Travelers from different places used to stay here on this spot in old times. This is called as the “REST PLACE FOR TIRED TRAVELLERS”. In spring and in summers Shahbaz gari looks very green and fresh and all over its adjacent rural area. I visited when spring just becomes started so there was less greenery all around. The scenery was not giving very lush look. In Shahbaz Gari is located two big rocks, which have engraved royal edicts of King Ashoka.
