I love to go a wandering along a mountain track...JULIAN a beautiful archeological site near Taxila.

One of the most famous archeological site is Julian, situated near city of Taxila, Pakistan.The site comes under the jurisdiction of archeological department Khyber Pukhtunkwa. It is one of the famous site for the followers of Buddha. Since my childhood i visited here thrice, a best place to stay and enjoy the serenity of nature especially in winters, make me feel so relaxing, probably best place for monks in ancient times for meditation. The guide told me that this ancient site mainly consisted of two parts. One is the main Stupa , that was damaged by the invaders in past and another one is the Monastery, situated at the hillock rock. It is more or less associated with the remains of Takht e Bhai Buddhist Monastery, situated in khyber pukhtunkwa province. At some places i also find resemblance between the both. Garden of Oranges, one of my favorite garden

There are lots of Orange Orchard in Taxila, on way to khanpur that are suppose to be one of the world's best oranges, available in different variety. I have been to this area quite often. During 90's , when i lived in the area and nearby cities (Wah Cant, Haripur) i been to the ruins of Buddha that are scattered around Taxila city with in more or less then few km , situated away from each other. In the way you may get many stalls of Oranges with their gardens at the back. In other season you may get here the apricot Orchard but in winters Oranges are the great sale of this area. Here you can purchase the oranges directly or may be you love to pick your selected oranges directly from the trees. Not a bad idea !! It was always been one of mine family favorite destination to visit at each weekends, especially in winters ( Dec to Feb), its very relaxing to visit this area.
