There are lots of Orange Orchard in Taxila, on way to khanpur that are suppose to be one of the world's best oranges, available in different variety. I have been to this area quite often. During 90's , when i lived in the area and nearby cities (Wah Cant, Haripur) i been to the ruins of Buddha that are scattered around Taxila city with in more or less then few km , situated away from each other. In the way you may get many stalls of Oranges with their gardens at the back. In other season you may get here the apricot Orchard but in winters Oranges are the great sale of this area. Here you can purchase the oranges directly or may be you love to pick your selected oranges directly from the trees. Not a bad idea !! It was always been one of mine family favorite destination to visit at each weekends, especially in winters ( Dec to Feb), its very relaxing to visit this area.
Here i am sharing my recent visit to the same area, picking the fresh oranges from the trees. I do enjoy these oranges much in comparison to what i get from the local market.
