Travel back in time. Baltit Fort in Hunza Valley

I always get fascinated by old forts and castles and the stories associated with them and Baltit fort is no exception. It has same charm and mystery that's most of the forts have. It's interesting to read and hear the stories of Kings,emperors, queens, prince, princess but to witness such forts and places is such a nice experience for me as i can imagine those olden times grandeur. So here i am going to explore this grandeur of the past now converted into a heritage museum located in main karimabad the capital of hunza valley. Baltit fort was the residence of Hunza rulers locally called them as "Mir's" and is 700 years old fort influenced by tibetan architecture and colours. Exploring the land of peaks "Hunza Valley" , A fairytale land.

While travelling through the winding roads of Karakoram highways (once used to be called as "Silk Route" in ancient times) the more and more you cover the distance the more you will be getting nearer towards the land of peaks and finally reaching to this fairytale land surrounded by majestic snow capped mountains. Every twist and turn on the road will ultimately leads you to the land of Shangrila, believed to be inspired from a famous novel "Shangri. La"in 1933 by british novelist James Hilton. Finally we reached "Karimabad" the capital of Hunza Valley and stayed at  "Hunza Darbar Hotel "located in the heart of Karimabad. After a long tiresome journey in the rugged mountains this place felt like heaven, both picturesque and comfortable. In such far off place "Hunza darbar hotel" is one of the bestest that offers their guests all the amenities. MY EPIC ROAD JOURNEY ON KKH

It is said that every new path takes you on a journey and fortunately i got an opportunity to travel back to the land of mighty mountains through karakoram highway. The kingdom of Himalaya, Nanga parbat, K2, Rakaposhi and many other beautiful peaks located in the north end of Pakistan. Northern Pakistan is home of some mightiest peaks in the world and most of them are located in karakoram mountain range, one of the most beautiful yet wildest mountain range in the world  This area is basically a base camp for mountaineers. Himalaya emerges from Nepal and runs through India, Pakistan, Bhutan and China.This is land of K2 and many other mightiest mountains. By road this journey is one of the adventurous and enjoyable journey though a bit exhausting and tiresome too but i think it's all worth it when you finally reach to the fairyland Hunza .
