Minaret of Antelope or the Deer Tower " ہرن مینار "

A few days back i got a chance to visit a monument locally named as "ہرن مینار " or " Deer Tower", situated near Lahore in Sheikhupura, Pakistan.

It is one of the famous historical site near Lahore, constructed by Emperor Jahangir for his pet deer in 1606. It is always fascinating for me to visit either archeological sites of Buddha scattered in northwest of Pakistan or to watch the Mughal Emperor's glorious past scattered in the Lahore and its outskirts.

It is also called Royal Hunting resort of Emperor Jahangir.
Many people visit here daily especially on Sundays lots of peoples come over here to relax and boating in the big water tank. Unique feature of the monument is the deer grave and the big water tank along with the thick forest in surroundings, looks very pleasant and warm especially in winters. How ever in Summers still people from surroundings do come over here and spend a whole day in the garden under old tree shades. It is said that even in summers people do enjoy here under shady trees.

Must watch this unique sample of Mughal Emperor Jehangir's glorious past scattered in the Lahore and its outskirts like Sheikhupura i.e. Hiran Minar has a story of an emperor's love for his pet animal. Shrine of Abdul Qadir Gillani's grand sons in Kallar Kahar

I have always been listening about one of the famous shrine in kallar kahar. Mostly in tv documentary programes i have noticed that Kallar Kahar is famous for three spots. One of them is kallar kahar salt lake, second one is Bagh e Safa or Muhgual Garden and the third one is a famous shrine of Abdul Qadir Gillani's two grand sons. Lof of people do visit here to this shrine. I personally found the area very beautiful, calm and serene. Though there was no rush at the time when i visited the area and i was very happy to get to know this and i really enjoyed the location and the beautiful shrine with its panaromic background that i have captured from its terraces. Rawal Dam.....with a lake in and a Park around, in capital Islamabad " A beautiful combination of water and gardens"

Rawal Dam was constructed in 1962. It is situated in the National Capital Islamabad, Pakistan. Basically it is an artificial reservior of water and is a great source of water supply to Rawalpindi and Islamabad, the twin cities of Pakistan. This reservior of water is called Rawal Lake and is spread over an area of 8.8km sqaure. It is suppose to be that "Korang River" along with some small streams coming down from the Margala Hills collect together to form this lake. This lake not only provide water to the twin cities but it also help in irrigation. On both sides of the Rawal Lake two parks have been constructed. Confluence of River Indus and River Kabul:

The place where river Indus and river Kabul mingle together to give a beautiful view, is situated on the border of Punjab and NWFP renaming Khyber Pukhtunkwa. This is the spot, where Attock (Punjab) ends and Khair abad Kund (NWFP renaming Khyber Pukhtunkwa) begins. Khair abad Kund is a small town, where the Peshawar Development Authority has established a beautiful park.  Attock fort can be seen from the bridge over the Kabul and Indus rivers. River Kabul and river Indus have two distinct colors of water. Pakistan Monument Museum in Islamabad is a must visit place, that is situated in front of Pakistan Monument. Here one can get the whole info. related to Pakistan since the independence. Though Photography is forbidden inside the museum thats why i cant display more pictures except the following one.
