Muzafarabad, the capital city of Azad Kashmir in Pakistan is one of the loveliest scenic city that i recently visit for the first time in august 2015. On 8th of October, 2015, its completing 10 years after this beautiful city had passed a deadly earthquake on 8th Oct 2005. This city was the site of epicenter of 2005 earthquake and one of the most damaged area of Kashmir during earthquake. Now it is reconstructed to great extent, For this purpose Japan cooperated with Pakistan towards rehabilitation and reconstruction of buildings. Most of the buildings are earthquake resistant now.
Here are some photographs that i clicked in the main city of Muzafarabad, though our plan was to go up to Sharda Neelum Valley, yet our first day and last day stay both in MZD MC hotel at bank road (probably one of the finest hotel). I also did a lil bit of shopping .
I got some beautiful Kashmiri coats and shawls in Madina market.
Ruins of red fort in muzafarabad is one of the tourist attraction situated near the bank of river Neelum with nice views. In kashmiri traditional food i tried "Kashmiri Kulcha" i remember my friend from muzafarabad once bring me that Kulcha too. Apart from that i will suggest to try Kashmiri gosht dish (Kashmiri beef with yogurt), Kashmiri Nan (bread) and of course the one and only Kashmiri pink tea.
From Lahore to Islamabad , enroute Muzafarabad to Athmuqam Neelum Valley AJK , sight seeing Kuttan Jargan, Upper Neelum and then night stay at "Valley trackers" Sharda, afternoon checkout and back to Muzafarabad. We entered MZD city through Murree express way. Road was very fine up to Murree but then started a bumpy jumpy and curvy road in the mountains that was so uncomfortable. I would suggest every body to go through Abbotabad Mansehra road that is much fine and scenic. We did come back through abbotabad and i really enjoyed the beautiful and scenic way coming back through Mansehra city.
