Built in 19th century and located in Chiniot city, Panjab Pakistan, Omar hayat palace is truly a wonder of wooden architecture. It is famous for it's beautiful carvings on roof and walls. It's also known as gulzar manzil. This is a magnificent palace of past but has such a tragic story embedded.
Umar hayat was said to be a wealthy man, who built this palace by skillful artisans but unfortunately he died and couldn't have shifted his new palace. However his wife and son has shifted here after completion. His wife arranged the grand wedding of their only son named gulzar but unfortunately he found dead on the very next morning of his wedding due to coal gas suffocation. He is buried by his mother in the courtyard of the palace, located inside canter of ground floor of palace. Later his mother also died and has been buried in same place near her son.
It's a master piece of great craftsmanship but considered as bad luck for the owners. This is a great heritage site but is not looking after properly. Lets have a look at some of the beautiful pictures from this palace 👇

It is famous for it's intricate wooden furniture, Omar hayat palace and the natural surroundings have been of great attraction for tourists who love nature. Due to close proximity to river Chenab, it's cant be missed as a traveler and tourist point.
