Visit to Rawal lake view park, Islamabad

Rawal lake view park is one of the latest addition to the existing parks in Capital Islamabad.  Rawal lake is basically an artificial reservior that fullfills needs of the twin cities Islamabad and Rawalpindi.CDA has developed lake view park with lot of recreational activities. It is man made natural park. Different ideas have been contributed in the establishment of this park. No doubt it is a perfect park to spend a wonderful time with friends and families. Its a huge place, covering with lush green lawns, gardens, children play land, which is a seperate section inside the park.



This park is attractive for every age group people.  Not only the locals of the twin cities , Islamabad and Rawalpindi visit it but people from different other areas also do visit here. There is an aviary, where one can enjoy different species of birds in natural surroundings, but currently work was undergoing on that project so it was not open for the visitors.


The path leading towards the spot , where rawal lake can be viewed, but unfortunately the water level was too low and near the park area was almost dry and cracked. I hope in the coming season of rain, the area would get pretty cool level of water, suitable for boating. Boating is one of the biggest attraction of here.


One of the biggest plus point of the park is its high quality of cleanliness. Though lot of crowd is present here every time yet one can notice very clean gardens and paths all over. There was no spitting, plucking of flowers and throwing of chewing gums and wrappers etc. Perhaps the reason is that every that person is highly fined here who making any sort of mess in the park thus every body taking care of surroundings.

Usually lot of parks are made here and lot of finances are spent yet with in a few months they becomes mess coz of lack of proper attention and look after. I suggest that every that person should be punished who spoil the beauty of any park, only then we can maintain our parks.

    Nice photo and blog, i have seen many spots last year when i came through flights to Islamabad to meet my family, Islamabad is one of the finest city in the world.

    I live right across the lake from this park. My bedroom window opens right infront of Rawal lake:) thanks for the tour. I come to this park often by boat.

Shrine of Abdul Qadir Gillani's grand sons in Kallar Kahar

I have always been listening about one of the famous shrine in kallar kahar. Mostly in tv documentary programes i have noticed that Kallar Kahar is famous for three spots. One of them is kallar kahar salt lake, second one is Bagh e Safa or Muhgual Garden and the third one is a famous shrine of Abdul Qadir Gillani's two grand sons. Lof of people do visit here to this shrine. I personally found the area very beautiful, calm and serene. Though there was no rush at the time when i visited the area and i was very happy to get to know this and i really enjoyed the location and the beautiful shrine with its panaromic background that i have captured from its terraces. Rawal Dam.....with a lake in and a Park around, in capital Islamabad " A beautiful combination of water and gardens"

Rawal Dam was constructed in 1962. It is situated in the National Capital Islamabad, Pakistan. Basically it is an artificial reservior of water and is a great source of water supply to Rawalpindi and Islamabad, the twin cities of Pakistan. This reservior of water is called Rawal Lake and is spread over an area of 8.8km sqaure. It is suppose to be that "Korang River" along with some small streams coming down from the Margala Hills collect together to form this lake. This lake not only provide water to the twin cities but it also help in irrigation. On both sides of the Rawal Lake two parks have been constructed. Confluence of River Indus and River Kabul:

The place where river Indus and river Kabul mingle together to give a beautiful view, is situated on the border of Punjab and NWFP renaming Khyber Pukhtunkwa. This is the spot, where Attock (Punjab) ends and Khair abad Kund (NWFP renaming Khyber Pukhtunkwa) begins. Khair abad Kund is a small town, where the Peshawar Development Authority has established a beautiful park.  Attock fort can be seen from the bridge over the Kabul and Indus rivers. River Kabul and river Indus have two distinct colors of water. Pakistan Monument Museum in Islamabad is a must visit place, that is situated in front of Pakistan Monument. Here one can get the whole info. related to Pakistan since the independence. Chapli Kabab of north west frontier province of Pakistan is very famous. Though lot of shops all around in the province but some places are more famous like Peshawar, mardan, charsadda and Takht bhai. Today iam gonna share with you Takht Bhai Chapli Kabab, with its very traditional recipe and  original taste. One can definitely try that in home too with little alteration.
