Mohra Muradu

Mohra Muradu is an ancient Buddhist Monastery and its ruins located on the top of hillock near Taxila in Pakistan, a nice place for the lovers of history and archaeological sites. A place that gives a beautiful view of the surroundings. I was wondering how nicely these ruins are maintained by the archeological department. This is not only this Archeological site but all the five sites i have visited there are well maintained. This was the place where the Buddhist followers from all over the world used to visit before 15 years or so. Guide told me that recently the Thai Princess visit all these ruins located in the area.

This Shrine of Buddha is badly damaged by the foreigners invaders known as Huns in past,as they were in search of Wealth. This Buddhist complex is consisted of two parts. A Stupa and the Monastery. There is courtyard, rooms and pool. No doubt, a nice place to stay for some times.

FOR CLICKING THE SURROUNDING PICTURE, I HAVE TO CLIMB THIS HILLOCK, BIT ADVENTUROUS FOR ME TO GET THEIR WITHOUT ANY RAILING OR HELP :) CLIMBING WAS EASY IN COMPARISON TO WHILE I WAS COMING DOWN. THE STONES WERE SLIPPERY ENOUGH TO SUPPORT THE SHOE...

FOR CAPTURING THIS VIEW , I HAVE TO CLIMBED THE SMALL HILLOCK , see in above picture, BIT RISKY, BUT ALL WELL THAT'S END WELL.

THE ROUND STONE WAS SUPPOSED TO BE USED FOR GRINDING WHEAT IN BUDDHIST TIME
