TOPKAPI PALACE. HOME OF SULTANS.

TOPKAPI PALACE no wonder truly reflects the life of Ottoman Sultans because it is the place where they lived and from where the whole empire was operated.  This wonderful Ottoman architecture is now converted into a museum. It will definitely take you back in time. Again a wonderful time for me spending in such in an amazing palace. Topkapi palace is no doubt an interesting place for history lovers.

When i looked at this wonderful palace i could imagine the fantastic world of Ottoman Sultans that was full of glorious past as well the tears and heart breaking tragedies belongs to the emperors. I was really fascinated to see this palace of Sultan Suleyman and Hurrem Sultan, one of the most influential woman in Ottoman empire and the greatest and richest of all Sultans. They lived and died here but their tombs are located in famous imperial mosque "Suleyman Mosque" built by same Shah Suleyman during in his empire along with their other family members especially their daughter Mihrimah.

Topkapi palace is said to be one of the largest one among oldest palaces that still survive up to date. In 15th century it was the residence and administrative place for Ottoman Emperors later they shifted to another magnificent palace (Dolmabache Palace) located in istanbul and that is somehow of European style.

If you have time then do explore the whole palace and every section of the museum along with the Dolmabache palace.

Golden Horn was in fact the ancient harbour during byzantine and Ottoman times . It's basically a water way that looks like a horn shape . This riverside was fascinating and the Sultans used to looked upon the golden horn and walked in the same gardens for a long time.
The view overlooking the bosphorus and the golden horns is simply amazing.

To uncover the secrets of Topkapi palace and having a glimpse of the glorious past of Ottoman empire one must definitely visit this museum.
