CROSSING DEEP BLUE AEGEAN SEA AND MARMARA. VISITING TROY.

Located between Aegean sea and Marmara sea, Canakkale town is a seaport of great importance to Turkey. We arrived to Canakkale on a beautiful sunny day through a scenic ferry ride from Eceabat  across the Dardanelle, one of the world's narrowest passageway of international significance because that separates Asian Turkey from European Turkey. From Istanbul, Canakkale distance is about 4 and half hours.

Canakkale is famous for it's historical background. One is about Mythical Trojan war, the ancient Troy and then the battle of Canakkale during WW1. No doubt visiting Canakkale reminds me of famous Hollywood movie "Troy" , based on legendary story where the ancient Greeks were believed to fought battles. I was surprised when i came to know that legendary town of Troy is located in modern Turkey known as "Anatolia". To enjoy this place one must be little imaginative as i could imagine brad pitt , the mighty Achilles in a blockbuster movie Troy.
